Πότε & πόσο συχνά πρέπει να περιστρέφετε & να αναποδογυρίζετε το στρώμα σας;

When & how often should you rotate & flip your mattress?

For decades, common advice in the mattress industry was to rotate and turn your mattress regularly to extend its life. However, changes in the design of modern strata have brought about significant changes so it is not certain whether this tactic is still valid today. The answer depends on the design of the particular layer. In general, most mattresses should be rotated regularly, but should not be turned over. The majority of modern mattresses are designed to be one-sided, meaning their design is not conducive to tipping over. The basic construction of most modern mattresses is as follows:
  • At the bottom of the mattress, a thick, relatively stable support layer usually consists of dense foam and/or metal springs that form the "support core". On the top layer of the mattress, one or more layers of foam or other materials, covering various densities and levels of firmness, make up the 'comfort system'. On the mattress is his cover.
This design works well to support the sleep needs of each user. The comfort system on the top provides a pleasant feel, while the denser support core helps to keep the spine in proper alignment throughout the night. However, if you turn the mattress upside down, this whole harmonic "mechanism" starts to not work so well. If you turn over a mattress that is not designed to be folded, you will end up experiencing a less comfortable and supportive sleeping environment for your body. At the same time, this may cause the gradual wear of the mattress. Should you rotate your mattress? Most layers can be rotated. In many cases, this will help protect the mattress from potential premature failure, as the rotation helps spread the wear and tear that comes with sleeping in the same position on your mattress every night. Areas of a mattress that are exposed to a lot of pressure (usually around the hips and shoulders) tend to sag prematurely. If the mattress is rotated regularly, it will be able to withstand this pressure over time.
  • Memory foam and latex mattresses should be rotated 1-2 times a year.
  • Newer mattresses that have innersprings should be turned 1-2 times a year while older mattresses 2-5 times a year.
Rotating the mattress regularly can help extend its useful life. But it is very important to know when you should replace your mattress . Even with diligent care and maintenance, most mattresses need to be replaced every 6 to 10 years. *The article is based on scientific evidence from Daniel 's research Noyed , Certified Sleep Coach & partner of Sleep Foundation .
