Holidays: sleeping in a hotel VS sleeping in a campsite
- The summer, on the beach...!
-Oops! The beach is nice, but then we'll sleep in the hotel, right?
-Which hotel? Is there anything better than being in touch with nature and sleeping in a tent?
OK! If you're over 30 (or even 25) you've probably already had this dead end conversation! For better or worse, sleeping from one age onwards is a special case! Endurance and patience decrease, while at the same time the mood for comfort, relaxation and lying down increases. OK BOOMER!
This, of course, does not mean that contact with nature loses all its magic! Simply, tenting, camping, and especially sleeping on hard ground takes guts, which might make you a little… too old for that sh*t!
We, for our part, come to democratically solve this dilemma! On the occasion of our element, we present the prons & cons of each case, so that you are prepared with the appropriate arguments when you find yourself in a similar position again! Let's get started!
1. (What else?!) The mattress!
The big difference! The source of all disagreement! Sleeping in the hotel is accompanied by a quality, good mattress that ensures a restful sleep. This argument could be the end of the story. However, an honest-to-goodness inflatable camping mattress can muddy the waters a bit. However, nothing compares to the fluffy feel of a regular hotel mattress!
Tip for hotels: Choose quality beds for your guests! They make a difference in the experience they will live!
2. The temperature
As we are talking about summer holidays, heat is a big problem during sleep. The big advantage here for the hotel is the air conditioning. With the right setting... yup, you even need a sheet to keep from getting cold!
Of course, to put it all, a scene in a seaside area, especially in the evening, has an excellent and natural, above all, coolness, offering a wonderful feeling, especially at dawn and early morning hours.
3. The morning awakening
As magical as the feeling in nature in the early hours of the morning is, the heat is just as nerve-wracking as soon as the sun rises. Already from 7 to 8 in the morning, the heat is unbearable, the sun is really hot, the tent looks like a greenhouse and you... no matter how much shade you have, you have to get up with a hangover in your nerves!
Not that a hotel room can't be hot already early in the morning (especially if the sun is beating down on it), however, that's where it comes into play… AIR CONDITIONING!
4. Annoying neighbors
This argument leaves no room for improvement. The hotel wins from the start. Anyone with camping experience knows how easy it is to hear EVERYTHING in the dead of night! When we say EVERYTHING, we mean EVERYTHING!
5. Night under the stars!
This is where things change! If you want to live a romantic night, knowing that above your head is not... cement, but the constellations of the sky (like Orion, if you know what I mean), then you accept the hard sleeping surface and the early heat in the morning and the annoying neighbors, just to enjoy... the ultimate feeling of being under the stars!
Our opinion? Whatever you choose, make sure you do it in good company! Have a nice summer!
