World Health Day April 7
As every year, this year too, April 7th is celebrated as World Health Day. A historic day on which the World Health Organization was born in 1948 and evolved into the most specialized UN body for Health issues.
Such an important day for ensuring Global Health, however, could not fail to be identified with the most basic resource that every person has to protect their health: quality sleep! That is why we at Orion Strom could not, on the occasion of the celebration of World Health Day, not remind ourselves of the unique benefits that sleep has for our health!
1. Stronger immunity
Sleep acts as the reset button for our body! So every time we lie down and close our eyes, our body rhythms slow down, muscles relax and our whole system is literally in sleep mode. Therefore, our body has the opportunity to heal from fatigue, stress, naturally eliminate infectious agents and fight micro-organisms while we are not using it to its full potential. Every time we sleep, our body is self-healing and shielding itself.
2. Better physical condition
During sleep our body not only rests, but also rebuilds itself. Paradoxically, while we exercise and in general, use our body to its full potential, our muscles are destroyed and have the ability to rebuild during the hours of rest. So we build our bodies as much when we lift weights, run and exercise as we do when we sleep. To get the body of your dreams, remember that good and uninterrupted sleep is your best coach!
3. Reduced risk of serious health problems
According to the latest research people who consistently sleep less than 6 hours a day are up to 300% more likely to die of cardiac arrest. Other studies show that sleep is also necessary for the proper functioning of the brain and the hormonal system, while at the same time it works beneficially in the regulation of body weight, the destabilization of which can lead to chronic serious diseases such as diabetes. Sleep well to have a long and quality life!
4. Reduction of anxiety and stress
During sleep, the brain literally deletes from its memory what it considers harmful and unnecessary for its function, while at the same time the body eliminates the tension of the day, toxins and other harmful factors that accumulate in the body due to anxiety and stress. Sleep is our body's best natural antidepressant!
5. More energy and positive mood
All of the above gives us the necessary energy and positive mood to start each day with the best omens. Don't see sleep as a necessary evil. When we sleep, we don't lose time from our lives; instead, we gain quality and productive days to live with those we love and do what we love.
